We currently have a \'Casual Housekeeper\' opportunity at Silvera for Seniors. This position is based at Spruce Commons located at 1055 Bow Valley Dr. NE, Calgary. What is so exciting about this position is that you get to work and support our Supportive Living Communities. One gets to know, support and have FUN with the many senior residents along with building internal relationships with your colleague

Hours of work: Shift times vary and the applicants must be available for all times as shown below. Shifts are any day of the week (Monday to Sunday. inclusive). As a \'Casual\' employee you would provide your availability for a minimum of 4 days per week and the work schedules will be given two (2) weeks in advance.

Shift Timings: 7:30am-4:00pm & 10:30am - 7:00pm (should be comfortable with both shift timings)

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness and safety of the community during their shift.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the daily cleaning of resident units including bed-making, linen and towel change.
  • Responsible for the laundry and cleanliness of all common areas and flooring.
  • Responsible for the overall security and safety of the community and residents during the assigned shift
  • Resolves any emergency situations which may arise and completes all paperwork and follows procedures as required
  • Reports any safety issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor and is knowledgeable in emergency procedures and can act accordingly
  • Required to travel between all communities to relieve other housekeepers on vacation or extended leaves of absence
  • Pick-up all laundry from Residents enrolled in the laundry service package, deliver to staff laundry area daily
  • Assist when necessary, in the Resident laundry program for all Residents enrolled in this service package. This may include wash, dry, fold and deliver
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry area
Desired qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-3 year experience into housekeeping/room attending experience is essential.
  • Must possess a high standard of hygiene and personal appearance.
  • Good Communication skills and excellent customer service skills, Pleasing attitude and the ability to relate to seniors.
  • Must have Food Handling course, WHMIS, and First Aid or willing to take.
  • Basic computer skills
Additional Requirements for Casual Staff:
  • The successful candidate has availability of at least 4 days per week and indicates those days and time upon hire
  • Must be willing to work multiple roles and provide coverage when required
  • Must be willing to work in multiple communities
