Job Title: Housekeeper Part-Time Facility: Mountain Lea Lodge Position Scope:
Reporting to the Manager of Support Services, the Housekeeper/laundry worker performs cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned and maintains a clean, safe and functional environment following Infection Control Standards while representing Mountains & Meadows Care Group Resident Centered Care Philosophy.
Primary Responsibilities / Duties: * Follow best practices to clean and maintain neighborhoods, including resident rooms/apartments and shared spaces.
Clean and disinfect all high touch areas throughout building
Following infection control guidelines, wash, dry, fold, and sort linens and personal clothing items
Pickup laundry on all neighborhoods at designated times, following infection control protocols
Label and wash clothing from new resident admissions, ensuring prompt return after laundering
Stock supplies; communicate supply needs to Support Services Manager
Assist with Crosskill Court resident laundry and running of the washer and dryer
Ensure safe and efficient operation of department equipment in line with department policies and procedures
Ensure equipment is stored safely - report any maintenance issues to manager/maintenance dept.
Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and guests by using appropriate signage
Follow WHMIS guidelines for safe handling/use of chemicals
Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping storage areas
With appropriate training, assist and support, residents in all activities of daily living
Maintain safe work practices and follow Occupational Health and Safety guidelines
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of housekeeping and laundry services
Qualifications:
WHMIS required (or willingness to obtain)
Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to complete physical demands of the position
Experience working with the elderly an asset
Experience using industrial cleaning equipment an asset
Hours of work: 8hour shifts/ must be able to work weekends and holidays.
