Job Title: House / Residential Supervisor

Location: Dartmouth

Reports to: Executive Director, ILNS and Senior Manager, ILNS

Hours of Work : Monday to Friday 8:00 - 4 pm plus on call (Days in Lieu provided)

The House / Residential Supervisor provides direct support to all Residential Respite Workers (RRW) in the complex care home. The role ensures that the behaviour plans are developed, communicated and carried forward in compliance with government regulations and meet the client needs within a safe and inclusive environment.

Core Competencies



Degree in Social Sciences or diploma and equivalent experience Five years progressive supervision experience, preferably in a support setting Five years experience as a support worker, with complex case experience Proficiency creating and modifying support plans Excellent communications skills, both written and oral Outstanding organizational skills and coordination of schedules Proven ability to facilitate training and mediate employee relations issues Applicants must have direct experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum in a residential, community, or complex-care setting. Successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding of sensory needs, communication differences, behaviour support strategies, crisis prevention, and person-directed approaches. Experience using proactive behavioural interventions, rapport-building, and skill-development support is essential.

Responsibilities



Ensures compliance with governmental regulations and requirements, including but not limited to: Making sure that protocols, administration records, and paperwork are complete, followed consistently, and reported on accurately in a timely manner Preparing requirements for licensing and audits of Department of Community Services Creating and monitoring behaviour plans and leading training in Non Violent Crisis Intervention Manages the residence, programs, and supports clients, including but not limited to: Coordinating access to professional healthcare services and specialists for the people supported. Working with and maintaining positive relationships with families of people supported by having regular meetings where I provide updates and quarterly reports with all important health, financial and behavioural information about their loved one. Advocating for the needs of people supported with parents, family, healthcare providers, public institutions, support team members, the community at large and also the organization. Reconciling all accounts to ensure that the expenses are appropriate and accurate. Budgeting client support accounts to meet their programming requirements Leads the support staff team, including but not limited to: Leading regular meetings to ensure policies and procedures are communicated and followed Ensuring a consistent and quality level of support for clients Scheduling the staff, ensuring the best fits for programming and staff wellness, including time off and substitutes Providing training and support on programming, behaviour, and communication Supporting in recruitment of staff, including interviewing, reference checks, orientation, and onboarding documents Managing payroll entry and vacation allotments Supervising team leads Managing performance through a progressive discipline model, with support from the Senior Manager Performs all duties in compliance with ILNS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct Other duties as required.
