The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course INTERNSHIP: INITIATION TO THE PROFESSION (322-1N1-LA).
By the end of their first internship, students will be familiar with work function through hands-on observation. More informed about the demands of the profession, they will be in a better position to make their own career choices. They will also be able to use their observational abilities to support children's development.
Required Qualifications :
Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years of teaching experience, or a DEC in Early Childhood Education or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a daycare setting. Teaching experience in Early Childhood Education or a related program such as Child Studies, Child Development, Special Education, or Social Work, and the preparation of students integrating the workplace are assets. This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required. Teaching experience with an adult clientele is strongly recommended.

Students will complete 78 hours of internship as scheduled in a pertinent workplace on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (March 18 to April 22, 2026). The hired instructor will be responsible for the supervision of 18 students; 7 hours per student are allocated for this task. He/She/They are also responsible for 12 hours in-class, as scheduled (4 classes of 3 hours), one class to help students prepare, another one to get their feedback at mid-term and answer any questions, and two classes to debrief and to organize the final student presentations at the end of the internship.
The 12 hours of class are given online (synchronous). Supervision is done in-person. Support (individual appointments with the onsite supervisor and/or students) may be done online or in-person in the stage placement.
