The Continuing Education department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course Ageing (351-408-LA).
This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by ageing population, focusing on the accurate identification of physical, cognitive, and neurocognitive deficits. Students will learn to assess the adaptive potential of individuals by profiling their strengths, difficulties, and the ability of both the person and their family to adapt to these changes. Emphasis is placed on selecting appropriate intervention methods that promote empowerment and maintain autonomy. The course also covers strategies for addressing social isolation, emotional management, and disruptive behaviors, while offering relevant suggestions for additional resources.
Required Qualifications :
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years teaching experience. Teaching experience in special care counselling or a related program such as gerontology, social work, or clinical psychology is an asset. Work experience in gerontology is strongly recommended. This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.
