Description :

The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course of VULNERABILITY MANAGEMENT (420-B05-LA).

Most cyber attacks involve exploiting one or more vulnerabilities to compromise a system or technology infrastructure. Even in cases where the attacker uses social engineering to gain fraudulent access to a system, the attacker will usually use a software vulnerability to ensure a persistent presence or to extend his or her control over the compromised network.

In this course, the students will learn how to detect and analyze software vulnerabilities on a network, as well as how to implement corrective measures in order to improve an organization's security posture while minimizing the impact on its operations. At the end of the course, students will be able to identify vulnerable components, understand how vulnerabilities can be exploited and the level of risk incurred by the organization, suggest corrective measures, evaluate their effectiveness in a test environment and deploy the solution on a host or on an entire network. In this course, as in the other courses, the teacher must pay particular attention to the development of professional ethics.

Required Qualifications :

Must have thorough knowledge of cybersecurity threats and risk analysis.

Must have a master's degree in computer science or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, or a bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field.

Experience teaching an adult clientele is an asset.
