Mystery Lake Hotel is a 130-room facility located in the heart of Thompson, Manitoba. Proudly situated on the reserve land of the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, we offer warm hospitality, a VLT Bar, and a strong commitment to community values. Conveniently located at 58 Cree Road, we serve as a welcoming destination for both visitors and locals.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a results-driven and people-oriented General Manager to lead our team. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of all hotel operations, ensure financial success, and deliver exceptional guest experiences--all while helping to build a strong and inclusive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily hotel operations including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Bar & VLT services, and tenant management Provide strategic direction to achieve financial and service excellence Recruit, train, and mentor staff to build a motivated, high-performing team Uphold hotel brand standards and ensure guest satisfaction Drive revenue growth through smart sales and marketing initiatives Manage budgeting, cost controls, and financial reporting Maintain a safe, secure, and inclusive workplace environment Liaise with the parent company (NHDC) to ensure alignment with corporate goals Champion environmentally sustainable practices within the hotel Perform additional tasks assigned

What We're Looking For

5+ years in hotel operations, including at least 3 years as a General Manager Post-secondary diploma in hospitality or equivalent experience Experience with midscale or select-service brands; IHG experience is strongly preferred Strong understanding of financial management, guest services, and operational leadership Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
