We are excited to be recruiting for a Host/Hostess at SMITH Restaurant inside our amazing Hotel Inn at the Forks. Shifts will be days and weekends.

Inn at the Forks is home to SMITH Restaurant, which opened in September 2014 succeeding the restaurant that was The Current. SMITH is fine fare, done right. Built on craftmanship and a dedication to the finer points, the restaurant celebrates the truth of honest food created from the diversity of the lands and waters of our great country. Every guest is welcomed into the comfort of a warm and modern space to enjoy the richness of an expertly prepared meal, focused on local and seasonal products of Canada. The menu features simple, luxurious food with big flavors from the best local suppliers. SMITH serves Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner and Late Night. It has extensive wine, beer, scotch and cocktail menus.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience and requires excellent communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to manage guest flow efficiently.

Duties:

1. Responsible for dining room knowledge - be aware of all tables and seat numbers.
2. Conducts guest seating.
3. Answers restaurant telephone.
4. Makes reservations.
5. Ensures efficiency, timeliness, and professionalism at all times.
6. Assists all fellow employees as required to maintain teamwork standards.
7. Performs general cleaning duties for the front of the restaurant and immediate lobby area.

What you bring to the table:

1. Direct Host/Hostess experience in a fast-paced, busy restaurant environment is considered an asset.
2. A positive and hardworking attitude, as well as a professional appearance and an energetic and outgoing attitude.
3. Ability to effectively communicate with team members.
4. The ability to stay focused in a high volume, fast-paced industry and ensure accuracy and procedures are followed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.80 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
