Job Description


The primary function of the host/hostess position is to welcome guests and tend to their requests. The objective of this position is to attain a high level of guest satisfaction, build new business and a base of loyal guests. Understand the importance of and promote the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Mission, Vision & Values, and provide direction to staff in accordance with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s policy and procedures in order to achieve organizational goals. Duties and Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 In accordance with all protocols proactively greet all guests with a smile and greeting while tending to their requests. \xc2\xb7 Confirm reservations as required. \xc2\xb7 Co-ordinate information to receive and record reservations and assign tables. \xc2\xb7 Keep menus clean and in order. Report where supply requires replenishing due to damage/wear. \xc2\xb7 Keep the front area clean, organized and attractive. \xc2\xb7 Assist in servicing including re-setting tables when busy and bussing dirty tables \xc2\xb7 Assist in preparing requisition for shortage of supplies (menus, billfolds etc.). \xc2\xb7 Report any concerns from guests and/or staff to the Duty Manager. \xc2\xb7 Bring forward cost effective and sales generating ideas and suggestions. \xc2\xb7 Obtain a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures conducting your area in strict accordance with them. \xc2\xb7 Maintain a professional attitude and manner at all times during your shift with the customer\xe2\x80\x99s total satisfaction always your first priority. \xc2\xb7 Set a fine example to fellow employees as to reliability, punctuality, attendance, grooming, and dress. \xc2\xb7 Follow all company policies and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Attend and participate at Staff Meetings. \xc2\xb7 Discuss all confidential matters only with authorized personnel \xc2\xb7 Contribute to a discrimination free work environment \xc2\xb7 Assist with other duties as reasonably assigned from time to time. Skills/Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 Previous customer service experience required. \xc2\xb7 Previous hosting experience preferred. \xc2\xb7 Smart Serve certificate must be acquired if not already possessed. \xc2\xb7 Ability to learn and operate Point of Sale effectively using company practices. Competencies: \xc2\xb7 Ability to work on a flexible schedule \xc2\xb7 Punctual and committed to work schedules. Physical Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Works in close contact with products containing seafood, shellfish and nuts e.g. peanuts. \xc2\xb7 Continuously stands for prolonged periods of time (ability to stand for 5 hour intervals). \xc2\xb7 Regulated indoor climate. \xc2\xb7 Lifting and balance trays weighting between 5 kg and 10 kg. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a scented environment.
