Position Title: Tasting Room Host
Reports to: Tasting Room Manager/ Assistant Tasting Room Manager
Position Type:
• 2 Full Time Seasonal Positions
• 3 Casual Part-Time Seasonal Positions,
Schedule:
• Full Time: 4-5 Days per Week, 25-35 hours and will include weekends and some evenings.
• Casual Part-Time: 1-2 Days per week, 4-16 hours per week and will mostly be weekends and some evenings.

Handcrafted in small quantities, Privato offers among the best of BC in small-lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Woodward Cider Co is a rapidly growing craft cider company owned by the three Woodward brothers.
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a passionate and outgoing Tasting Room Host to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, conducting wine and cider tastings, and performing all activities required in the Tasting Room and outdoor lounge and special event area.

Key Accountabilities:
• Provide an exemplary tasting room guest experience including hosting wine and cider tastings and sharing knowledge about our products.
• Conduct winery tours for visitors, wine club members and VIP guests with confidence and enthusiasm.
• Promptly reply to tasting appointment inquiries and schedule appointments.
• Promote and sell wine and cider as well as memberships to visitors to achieve key performance indicators.
• Communicate Privato's winemaking style, operations, and deliver a memorable experience to the guest's knowledge level.
• Process wine sales and handle cash and credit card transactions using our POS system.
• Assist with shipping orders and fulfillment of wine and cider clubs.
• Assist with selling Christmas trees during the Christmas season.
• Assist with special events and private tastings as needed.
• Follow all provincial and federal regulations pertaining to the sale and service of alcohol.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospitality space including tasting rooms, patio, walkways, restrooms, and picnic area.
• Ensuring the tasting bars are well stocked, free of clutter, and ready to receive visitors.
• Any other tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Must be Serving It Right Certified.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working in customer service and sales in hospitality, food and beverage service, or comparable industry.
• Knowledge of wine varietals and winemaking process is an asset but not essential. We can train you.
• Passionate about offering high levels of customer service; wine service skills are considered an asset.
• Excellent core computer skills (MS Office Suite).
• Project a polished and professional outward image in both dress and manners
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing demands in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays and any events on and off site.
• Able to safely lift up to 23 kg / 50 pounds.
• Must be 19+ years of age and have a valid BC Driver's License.
• Food Safe Certificate an asset
• The work environment is primarily in a tasting room setting where extended time standing is required.
