Host (part-time)
As Host with Fairmont Waterfront you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Your warm, personal attention provides a memorable first impression for guest of our ARC Restaurant and Lounge, making them feel welcome and valued. Join Fairmont Waterfront and take part in the sustainable travel revolution at our harbor-front, eco-conscious hotel, which is home to Vancouver\'s first green roof and a honey bee apiary!

What you will be doing:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
• Understand the Server\'s tasks in the outlet
• Have an understanding of shift-end reports and the POS system
• Assist guests regarding food & beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Have knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Creative and passionate about food and customer service
• Previous service experience an asset
• Previous Point of Sale System experience an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime shifts, split shifts and holidays

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
