Dalvay by the Sea is a National Historic Site of Canada, the building has spacious rooms, each tastefully and uniquely furnished with period antiques. We are located 25 minutes from Charlottetown. Our vibe is very relaxed, and our food and service is some of the best our Island offers. We take pride in the overall experience we give. Our food is fresh, made from our Islands best ingredients. Host/Hostess Position-Job Overview Host/Hostess responsibilities include greeting guests to all of our dining and bar areas. In this role, one should have the ability of organizational and people skills to make sure all guests have a positive dining experience from the moment of their arrival until their departure. Summary of Functions

• Greet incoming and departing guests warmly, genuinely, professionally, and with a smile and eye contact. Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and answer queries from guests.
• Escort guests to their assigned seating tables and present the guest with menus.
• Able to create a floorplan according to the restaurant layout, and reservations and to adjust/modify when necessary.
• Manage reservations, and seating arrangements, and provide accurate wait times using the iPad.
• Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies.
• Assist line staff as needed) Clearing tables, resetting tables, serving food etc.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation (Host area, menus, billfolds, etc.) and other common guest areas(sanitizing often and at least hourly: restrooms, High touch surfaces, etc.)
• All employees to present themselves in a professional manner, with regards to attire, personal hygiene, and appearance. This includes shirt, pants, dress/skirt and shoes.
