  • Maintain a safe environment for guests and colleagues;
  • Maintain an environmentally friendly work place;
  • Maintain a proficient knowledge of the task check list;
  • Monitor and maintain mechanical equipment operation;
  • Complete mechanical rounds once per shift;
  • Complete water quality testing of the pools once per shift;
  • Complete water quality testing on the softening and condensing systems once per day;
  • Respond to and rectify guest room requests;
  • Respond to and rectify staff requests;
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and other departments;
  • Perform preventive repairs, retrofits, or other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Active member of the Emergency Response Team;
  • Active member of an internal committee as assigned by the Chief Engineer;
  • Contribute to the successful operation of the department in an innovative and supportive manner;
  • Carry out duties within the Service Plus Core Standards guidelines and the Policy of Standards
  • Accept accountability for actions taken during the performance of these duties
  • Must be available in the event of emergency
Physical Aspect of the Position (include but are not limited to):
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
QualificationsYour experience and skills include:
  • Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering certificate or equivalent with 5 years supervisory experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • Highly organized, decisive, with ability to handle multiple projects under deadlines and changing priorities
  • Computer knowledge in energy management and building automation software programs.
  • Motivated by opportunity to improve skills in all building management functions. These include trade skills, all related codes and new or innovative methods of improving efficiency and operation of the building
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written presentations
  • Excellent teamwork skills and high level of initiative
