Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for Family Physicians to join our team!

Horizon Health Network seeks family physicians for province wide vacancies to support existing practices.

The Department of Family Medicine encourages its members to participate in the Dalhousie University School of Medicine-affiliated training program, the Memorial University School of Medicine Postgraduate Program, and Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick\'s undergraduate education program. Information on academic positions is available upon request. Physicians are also invited to participate in the research program.

Job Duties

The basic responsibilities of the position are listed below. Related duties may be assigned from time to time to ensure the proper functioning of Horizon Health Network.

• Provide family-centered primary care in the community setting to patients of different genders and ages.
• Work with nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and paramedics.
• Provide inpatient care (in region 2 \xe2\x80\x93 Saint John, only)
• Participate in after-hours coverage of the daycare in collaboration with other medical staff and ensure that arrangements are made to ensure continued coverage of his/her professional load during any absence.
• Practice medicine in accordance with the mission, values, and strategic orientations of the health network.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine.
• Member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada, preferred.
• Eligibility for licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
• Fluency in English is required.
• In accordance with immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.
• Good history of attendance and work.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties.

Remuneration

Compensation is based on a fee-for-service formula whereby New Brunswick Medicare pays fees directly to the physician for any services rendered. Childcare is remunerated. No withholding tax can be offered.

Incentives

• Possibility of being eligible for a provincial government recruitment incentive with a service agreement signed.
• Moving Expenses

Shifts

• Normal hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, unless otherwise agreed by the manager.
• The successful candidate will participate in after-hours and weekend childcare coverage in collaboration with other service members.

Additional Requirements

• Comply and keep up to date with CFPC CME annual requirements
• Comply with the policies and procedures of the Department of Family Practice and the Hospitalist program.
• Comply with the provisions of the Hospital Act, the Regional Health Authorities Act, the Medical Services Payment Act, and their regulations.
• Comply with the Health Authority bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures.
• Follow the Code of Ethics of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
• Fluency in English is a MUST
• Bilingualism (French) is an asset
