Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and engaging

Tutor

to provide one-on-one support for a Grade 8 student. The main focus will be

homework help across core subjects (Math, English, Science, Social Studies)

and building strong study habits. The learner is autistic and would benefit from a tutor who has experience supporting neurodivergent students. The ideal candidate will be patient, flexible, and able to explain concepts in a clear and supportive way.

Responsibilities

Provide academic support and homework help in Grade 8 subjects. Assist with organization, time management, and study skills. Break down assignments into manageable steps and encourage independent thinking. Create a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment. Adapt tutoring approach to meet the learner's individual needs. Communicate progress and challenges with parents/guardians when needed.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Grade 8 curriculum (Math, English, Science, Social Studies). Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an asset. Experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent learners is preferred. Patience, flexibility, and ability to adapt teaching style to student needs. Strong communication skills and a positive, encouraging approach. Reliable, punctual, and organized. Bachelors Degree is a minimum requirement.

Schedule & Compensation

Flexible scheduling (after school/evenings preferred). Part-time hours (approx. 2-6 hours per week). Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
