The Kids First Program offers targeted intensive early childhood supports for children and their families through the prenatal period to age three. The program is focused on healthy parent-child attachment toward positive outcomes for families with young children.
General Description:
This position is 0.75 Supervisor and 0.25 Home Visitor. The incumbent will maintain a small caseload and facilitate home visits. This position is one of two Home Visiting Supervisors that oversee the Home Visiting Program.
The Home Visiting Supervisors provides clinical supervision and mentorship to the Home Visitors in the Kids First Program using a strength-based approach and following program guidelines. This position collaborates and coordinates with other agencies and organizations involved in support to KidsFirst Families.
This position additionally works with the Kids First Program Manager and contracted staff to assess admissions to Kids First for those families meeting the mandate.
Record maintenance and data collection is required. The Home Visiting Supervisor will work with the Provincial Manager, Accountable Partner and the KidsFirst Prince Albert Program Manager toward program planning, implementation and evaluation. Required Qualifications, Experience and Abilities
- Post-secondary degree in a human service field
- Knowledge and experience in working with families in the provision of in-home services
- Experience in staff supervision
- Knowledge of early childhood community resources, interagency and interdisciplinary approaches
Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood development, effective parenting, the broad social determinants of health, and risk factors in early development as well as trauma informed practice
- Proficiency and knowledge of computer programs and database software.
- Good interpersonal communication, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Knowledge of the Indigenous community and Indigenous cultures
- Ability to work some flexible hours may be required
- A current Criminal Record check including Vulnerable Sector Check, valid driver's license, driver's abstract and operational vehicle are required.
