Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role involves working closely with clients who may have varying levels of physical and mental health challenges, including those with dementia or disabilities. The Support Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring adherence to best practices in patient care. Assist clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring their safety at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the client's living space to promote a healthy environment. Document client progress and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care.

Skills

Experience in medication administration and patient care is essential. Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable. Previous experience working in nursing homes or home care settings is preferred. Strong caregiving skills with a focus on empathy and understanding of client needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients. Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams. A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining a clean living environment for clients.
