Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, focusing on enhancing their quality of life and promoting independence. You will work closely with clients who may require support due to age, illness, or disability, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
• Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
• Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including housekeeping tasks.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Assist with case management by documenting client progress and communicating with healthcare professionals as necessary.
• Utilize medical terminology when discussing client needs with healthcare providers.
• Provide specialized care for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
• Support individuals with disabilities in achieving their personal goals and maintaining independence.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in home care and hospice care.

Requirements

• Previous experience in home care, senior care, or hospice care is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Flexibility in scheduling to meet the varying needs of clients.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.75-$19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
