Job Description

Hartland will officially be opening a new 24hr Level 4 Adult Residential Home this coming January!

Caring First is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers, or those who work in human services, to provide high-quality support to individuals. This role involves supporting clients with activities of daily life, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within a respectful and caring environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, home care or group home settings and possess a genuine desire to improve the lives of others in general, not just while at work.

Duties



Support clients with activities of daily life: such as personal care and money management to help promote independence Help construct weekly menus tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences Assist with serving breakfast, lunch and dinner - as well as snacks Take clients on a variety of outings Help to keep the house clean and report any safety issues that need attention Monitor client's overall wellness; report any changes or incidents Help support clients in meaningful activities such as creative or social hour, or support client's with cooking Work closely with client's Families, Social Workers, healthcare professionals and Social Development to ensure comprehensive care plans are being followed

Experience



Prior experience in assisted living, home care or group home settings preferred

The client's at Caring First will have complex behavioural needs that require ongoing emotional and mental support to ensure they are able to maintain a high quality of life.

Additionally, as per Social Development's guidelines you will need to have:

Valid standard Emergency First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certificate. Certification must be renewed prior to expiry date. Comply with the terms of the Social Development Record Check and Criminal Record Check. Be sixteen (16) years of age or over. Staff under nineteen (19) years of age must be supervised by an adult primary staff member at all times while providing care services directly to residents.
Candidates seeking employment in an adult residential facility must have taken one of the following training programs if they want to provide direct care to residents in Special Care Homes, Community Residences or Specialized Care Bed Homes

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
