Job Summary:

A Home Support Worker provides personal care and assistance to clients in their homes. They help individuals with daily activities and ensure their well-being, safety, and comfort. The role includes assisting with personal hygiene, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other tasks to support clients' independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities:



Personal Care:



Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. Help clients with mobility, including transferring from bed to wheelchair, walking, and exercising. Monitor and report changes in client's physical or emotional condition to the supervisor or healthcare provider.

Household Tasks:



Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences. Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and changing bed linens. Assist with grocery shopping and running errands.

Medication and Health Monitoring:



Remind and assist clients with taking prescribed medications. Monitor vital signs and record information as instructed. Accompany clients to medical appointments if necessary.

Emotional Support and Companionship:



Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities. Offer emotional support and encouragement to promote mental well-being. Maintain a respectful and positive relationship with clients and their families.

Safety and Emergency Response:



Ensure a safe living environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards. Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established protocols. Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in home support work or a related field (preferred). CPR and First Aid certification. Experience in caregiving or home support work (preferred). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform physical tasks Reliable, compassionate, and patient.

Working Conditions:



Work is performed in clients' homes. Flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Additional Information:



Successful completion of a background check and reference verification. Immunization Records up to Date VSC ( Vulnerable Sector Check) completed within the three years
