Caring Hands Home Care and Disability Services is seeking compassionate and reliable Home Support Workers to support seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes. This role integrates personal care, respite support, and home-making responsibilities to ensure clients can live safely, comfortably, and independently.

Job Overview

The Home Support Worker provides essential assistance with daily living activities. You will deliver hands-on personal care, offer companionship and respite to families, and help maintain a clean, healthy home environment. This role is ideal for someone committed to enhancing the quality of life of vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities

Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and other personal care tasks Provide support to individuals with dementia, cognitive challenges, or chronic conditions Offer companionship, emotional support, and short-term relief to family caregivers Prepare nutritious meals based on dietary needs and assist with feeding when required Perform light housekeeping such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe home environment Remind clients to take medications as outlined in their care plan Assist with errands, appointments, and everyday routines Document care activities and report any changes in client condition Work collaboratively with supervisors and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care

Qualifications

Health Care Aide Certificate (required) First Aid & CPR Certification Police Clearance/Vulnerable Sector Check Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transportation Experience in senior care, disability support, or home care (asset) Knowledge of dementia care or specialized support techniques (advantage) Ability to perform lifting, transfers, and mobility assistance Strong communication, reliability, and compassion Ability to work independently and follow care plans
