Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and support to individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through direct support and assistance with daily living activities.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Monitor and document patient vital signs and changes in condition. Assist clients with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Support clients in social activities and community engagement to promote independence. Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations. Assist with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts for clients requiring additional support. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Participate in training sessions related to caregiving best practices, including first aid and CPR certification.

Qualifications

Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or group home settings is preferred. Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring for changes in health status. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental disabilities. Knowledge of dementia care principles and memory care strategies is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs. Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable. A background in nursing or social work can be advantageous but is not required.
