Bonavista
Home Support Workers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. The successful candidate(s) will provide compassionate care and support to clients that may reside in their own home, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will assist to improving the well-being of those they serve, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Monitoring health conditions and reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel. Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules. Provide specialized care for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards. Assist individuals with disabilities in their daily routines, promoting independence and dignity.

Skills

Meal preparation and understanding dietary needs. Experience in patient care, with a focus on empathy and compassion. Knowledge of case management practices to support client needs. Familiarity with home care protocols and best practices. Experience in dementia care or working with individuals in assisted living or nursing home settings. Ability to administer medication safely and accurately. Strong organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in client environments. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Starting

Salary of

$20.23

per hour, including 4% vacation pay. Travel reimbursement allowance. Flexible schedules with day, evening, and overnight shifts available.
