We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Care Aides to provide exceptional in-home care to clients with diverse needs in North Lethbridge. The ideal candidate will support patients with activities of daily living, ensure their safety, and promote overall well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance due to aging, disabilities, or illness. Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments is preferred, along with familiarity with medical documentation and patient care protocols.
Duties
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor and observe patient conditions, including vital signs and behavioral changes
Administer medications and manage medical routines following prescribed instructions
Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) or EMR systems accurately for documentation purposes
Support patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory care needs through specialized techniques
Use assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform catheter care safely
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental health and reduce loneliness
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning tailored to dietary restrictions
Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry and cleaning to maintain a safe environment
Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
Document medical records precisely and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
Requirements
Prior experience in home health, long-term care, or assisted living preferred; experience with hospice or dementia care is a plus
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications such as CNA or HHA are advantageous
Ability to work independently while adhering to care plans and safety protocols
Strong communication skills and compassion for working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those needing memory care
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation standards
Ability to assist with ADLs using proper techniques and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
Must be reliable, patient-focused, and committed to providing high-quality patient care
Valid driver's license may be required for community-based services; background check necessary for employment compliance
