Schedule: Saturday and Sunday Nights (7pm-7am)

Hours: 24 hours/week (option to pick up additional shifts)

As a CareAide you'll play a vital role in assisting CareRecipients with activities of daily living, providing companionship, and supporting their overall well-being. Working closely with a Registered Nurse, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you care for.

Qualifications:

BC Care Aide Registry. Current First Aid certificate.

Skills and Abilities:

Previous experience with diabetes and dementia Willing to learn Ability to use technology Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written) Ability to lift 25 kilograms and or perform lifting and bending when assisting CareRecipients

Requirements:

Current criminal record check Negative TB skin test Proof of updated COVID-19 booster & Influenza vaccination

Responsibilities:

Provide overnight supervision and safety monitoring Assist with mobility, personal care, and comfort needs Document care notes and communicate with daytime staff Establish and maintain professional relationships with CareRecipients and their family members, and fostering their physical and emotional independence. Provide assistance with daily tasks, including but not limited to: feeding, meal preparation, linen changes, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping. Have a clear understanding of the accountability and expectations relating to transferable skills/delegated tasks. Follow CarePlans and document care to maintain accurate CareRecipient records. Observe CareRecipients, and promptly report to BrossCare any changes in their condition, behavior, or level of assistance especially those that may indicate a potential safety concern. Provide personal care support as necessary. Have a commitment to continuous learning. Be aware of and follow BrossCare policies.
We prioritize applicants who are comfortable with consistent long shifts to maintain continuity of care.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 36 per week
