Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Clinical & Corporate Applications the HIS Change Management Architect plays a critical role in ensuring the design, strategy, stability, security, and efficient operation of the Hospital Information System (HIS). The Oracle HIS Change Management Architect is responsible for the daily governance, health, optimization and integration of the organization's HIS with internal and external systems across the healthcare enterprise. This role ensures intake, review, implementation and monitoring of Oracle HIS updates, upgrades, flashes, self-heals, and overall system performance. This role will develop new and use existing system dashboards, KPIs, reports, and vendor tools to ensure on-going interoperability of the clinic HIS with both internal and external systems. The HIS change Management Architect provides advanced level functional Cerner Millennium system expertise in addressing problems of system integration, workflow and compatibility in any level of a multi-faceted regional healthcare environment. The Architect coordinates the design, testing, integration and maintenance activities across the HIS. Working with Oracle Cerner they develop, manage and implement a domain strategy (which includes a single domain supporting multiple sites), manage issues and change management. They conduct Oracle Cerner package reviews, prioritizing package installations based on impact and severity and applicability to WRHN and its partners and coordinate the installation and testing of packages through the domain. This role ensures alignment with the strategic direction of the organization and regional partners for project management and project coordination.
Position Requirements:
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Informatics, Computer Science, Health Informatics or Related Discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience working with Oracle Cerner or a similar HIS environment.
Strong understanding of system integration, domain management, and change control processes.
Proven ability to manage complex projects in a multi-site healthcare environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated collaboration and relationship-building skills across diverse teams and organizations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience leading and managing change while ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
Effective presentation, analytical and report writing skills.
Related experience in a hospital environment
Ability to work in 24/7 patient care environments where downtime is mission critical.
Understanding of clinical workflows and the impact of IT infrastructure on patient care
Preferred Requirements:
ITIL, LEAN or similar certifications or experience is preferred
Experience supporting EMR/EHR environments, especially Cerner Millennium, is preferred.
