Job Description


The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts is a 2000-seat performance venue in the heart of downtown Toronto. The Centre is the home of the Canadian Opera Company and the National Ballet of Canada, and hosts a variety of other events including galas, meetings, corporate functions, film screenings, and social events.
We are now accepting applications for the part-time position of Food & Beverage Supervisor who will report to the Patron Services Management team.



The person in this position will be responsible for delivering and overseeing service excellence to our Patrons and Guests during performances and events. They will manage our bars/concessions during an average performance and oversee events in cooperation with the event management team.

This is an in-person position in a fast-paced environment. The weekly schedule will fluctuate depending on the calendar of performances and events, but we ask for a commitment of 3-4 shifts/week, averaging 30 hours/week. Shifts are mostly on evenings and weekends, with an opportunity to work daytime matinees.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

Review and prepare event planning documents and guide the food & beverage team accordingly (up to 25 people daily).
Lead the daily briefing for staff and respond to questions/needs.
Oversee setup and tear-down of bars/concessions/coat check, taking a hands-on approach.
Cash handling and product management, including the preparation of the daily sales report.
Ensure that the lobby/event space is ready in advance of guests\xe2\x80\x99 arrival, including the correct setup of furniture, displays, linens, flowers, glassware, product, cash, and credit/debit terminals.
Cooperate and communicate with other departments to assure building readiness.
Ensure that event spaces are clean and closed at the end of the shift.
Mentor and train staff on-shift.
Complete end-of-shift reports.
Enforce house policies, including health & safety awareness and report any deficiencies.
Other administrative duties including counting inventory, entering timesheets, and ordering products.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in food & beverage service, hospitality, or events-related roles. Preference for those with customer service experience.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
Positive and courteous interactions with all guests, clients, and colleagues.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Business Central) and familiarity with point of sale software.
Exceptional leadership and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to quickly problem-solve and prioritize.
Attention to detail.
Must be Smart Serve certified.
Required to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds without difficulty.
Comfortable with heights, elevators, and stairs.
Cash handling experience.
Comfort using a radio.

Additional Info:
COMPENSATION

The hourly rate of pay is $22.00/hour, and some shifts for private/special events will be paid at $27.00/hour.
After one year of continuous service, employees who have met a minimum hour requirement may participate in a benefits plan.
