Position Overview:
We seek a passionate and dedicated Grade 4-8 Social Studies, Language Arts, French and Science Teacher to join our team. This will be full time hours. Successful candidates will have expertise in Junior grades, a strong understanding of the Ontario curriculum, and the ability to differentiate instruction and assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners. While a background in sports is not required, we seek individuals who are enthusiastic about integrating sports, health, and the arts into their teaching practice and who can inspire students to pursue their passions in these areas.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that align with the Ontario curriculum.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.
Integrate sports, health, and arts education into the curriculum to promote holistic student development.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and cross-curricular initiatives.
Provide ongoing feedback and support to students to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
Adhere to the principles of Growing Success and implement appropriate assessment and evaluation strategies.
Qualifications:
Ontario College of Teachers certification (OCT) is required. We will consider applicants with equivalent experience.
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and experience with curriculum differentiation.
Passion for integrating sports, health, and arts education into the classroom.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
