FT MAINTENANCE WORKER at 285 Pembina:

The Bethania Group is seeking a qualified

FT Maintenance Worker

to join our dedicated team of professionals at Deaf Centre Manitoba located at 285 Pembina Hwy. in Winnipeg, MB.

Deaf Centre Manitoba is a multi-functional facility serving deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing individuals. We strive to provide the highest quality of care to all of our residents (of Pembina Place Personal Care Home) and tenants of 285 Pembina. To that end, we depend on the skills and compassionate caring of individuals in a variety of disciplines including our Maintenance Team.

The ability to respond to service requests both verbally and written from our Maintenance Work Order computer system in an efficient and timely manner is critical. Successful candidates will have 1-3 years previous experience working in a maintenance position where the tasks performed required a basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing and electrical.

As a successful candidate, your past experience reflects that you are committed to customer service and have a strong attention to detail. You can work efficiently as part of a team and/or independently. The ability to read, write and speak in the English language is required along with knowledge of ASL (American Sign Language) or the willingness to enroll in the next available course is required. Computer skills are required in this position along with the ability to train and mentor any new Maintenance Department employees.

Previous experience working with people within various communities including deaf, deaf blind, mental health, and seniors is an asset. Previous experience working in a Long Term Care facility will be considered an asset. A valid Class 5 Full Drivers License is also an asset. This is a unionized position under our MGEU Collective Agreement.

Successful candidates are required to provide a current (within 12 months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Persons Sector search and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
