Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer with 2+ years of direct experience in immigration and refugee law. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage a diverse caseload, appear regularly before the IRB (RPD, RAD, IAD), and draft compelling legal submissions. This is a strong fit for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment and shares our commitment to client-centered representation.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent clients before the IRB (including RPD, RAD, and IAD) and Federal Court (if applicable) Prepare and file H&C applications, PRRAs, sponsorships, appeals, inadmissibility responses, and other immigration filings Conduct legal research, prepare written submissions, and review disclosure Liaise with clients, interpreters, community organizations, and government officials Manage and bill Legal Aid Ontario certificates
Qualifications:

Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario Minimum 2 years of experience in immigration and refugee law (firm experience required) Fluency in Spanish is required Must be on the Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) Immigration and Refugee Services roster Strong knowledge of IRPA, IRPR, and procedural fairness standards Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume caseload and appearing before the IRB Excellent legal drafting and client communication skills

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
