Job Summary



Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug Education Authority (KEA) is hiring qualified, in-person High School Teachers for Aglace Chapman Education Centre in Big Trout Lake, an Oji-Cree community accessible by air from Sioux Lookout or Thunder Bay. Teachers are needed in the following subject areas:

Math (Grades 9-12) Science (Grades 9-12: Biology, Chemistry, Physics) Construction Technology Social Studies (Geography, History, Civics) Physical Education Literacy (English, Literacy Support) Music Arts (Visual and Media Arts, Crafts)

Responsibilities



Deliver the Ontario Secondary School curriculum in your subject area(s) to Grades 9-12 in-person. Adapt materials for diverse learners and integrate Indigenous and land-based content where appropriate. Develop and update Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with colleagues. Track and report student progress and credit accumulation. Integrate technology to support teaching and student engagement. Support extra-curricular programs, cultural activities, and special events. Participate in a collaborative and supportive staff culture.

Qualifications



Bachelor of Education and Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate (Intermediate/Senior) with subject specialist qualifications. Experience teaching specified high school subjects; knowledge of Indigenous contexts or a willingness to learn is an asset. Strong classroom management skills and commitment to equity and student success. Proficiency with technology and digital teaching tools. Ability to obtain a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Salary & Benefits

Salary up to $104,000 (based on experience, per the QECO salary grid). Free furnished private or shared accommodation and utilities. Paid return flights and freight allowance.
