Position:

We are hiring a tutor to help students in high school science courses:

Science 8, 9, & 10 Biology 11 & 12 Chemistry 11 & 12
We are looking for someone who is available for both online and in person tutoring within Victoria. The contract runs from September 2nd, 2025 to December 19th, 2025 with the possibility of extension for the following school semester.

We provide you with:

Training:Learn from our experienced tutors! Equipment:Use our tablets for remote tutoring. New Students:Once students have signed up for tutoring, we let you take over. Booking Platform:Allow your students to easily book and reschedule sessions. Automated Billing:Focus on teaching while our team handles the billing behind the scenes. Support:Our team is here to answer any tutoring questions you might have.

Qualifications:

Either completed or currently enrolled in a science or related post-secondary program. Solid understanding of the topics that you intend to tutor. Excellent communication skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed academically. Adaptability to tailor tutoring techniques to diverse learning styles. Previous tutoring or teaching experience is advantageous.

Requirements:

Must have access to a quiet workspace with high-speed internet. Tutors must provide their own equipment including computer, microphone, webcam, headphones, etc. Must have your own vehicle. Must be located in the Victoria area.
Please note we are hiring tutors as independent contractors!

This means that you are not an employee of Heywood Academies and are responsible for your personal income tax accounting and insurance coverage.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week
