who is passionate about helping students strengthen their understanding of key math concepts and improve their academic performance. The position will provide individualized or small-group instruction to high school students, supporting courses aligned with the Ontario Curriculum (Grades 9-12).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions for high school math students.
Implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse student learning needs.
Reinforce classroom learning by reviewing key topics such as algebra, functions, trigonometry, and calculus.
Monitor and document student progress, providing constructive feedback and study recommendations.
Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff to ensure consistent academic support.
Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment that fosters student confidence and engagement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
Experience tutoring or teaching high school math (Grades 9-12).
Strong understanding of the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum (e.g., MPM2D, MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
Ability to tutor both in-person and/or online (depending on schedule and student needs).
