Scholars of Burlington North is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic part-time

High School Math / Science

tutor to join our team. As a teacher at Scholars, you will have the opportunity to positively impact students, both personally and academically. Here's what we're looking for:

Ontario Certified Teacher is preferred; Candidates in Teachers College or university designation are also encouraged to apply; Previous experience working with students is an asset; Excellent English oral and written skills; A passion to help students reach their potential; Exceptionally organized and high attention to detail; Ability to teach groups of up to three students;

French is an ASSET(potential for more hours); Knowledge of special education techniques and strategies is a plus

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects, including math, science, and other subjects as needed; Help students improve their understanding of concepts, problem-solving skills, and study habits; Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation; Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the centre manager; Proficiency in computer skills and ability to utilize educational software and online resources; Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner; Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students of different ages and backgrounds; Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities; Available to attend teacher training workshops as needed

Candidates must be able to work a minimum of two shifts per week within our hours of operation below.

Monday - Thursday, 4:00 - 8:00 pm Saturdays, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Job Type: Part-time

Part-time hours: 6-10 hours per week

Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
