Position Summary
The High School Completion Coach will support First Nations, Metis and Inuit students in achieving academic success by assisting with educational programming and implementing promising practices.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
analyze data to identify high school students at risk of not completing courses
review, implement and track student progress, including attendance, course grades and credit completion to identify and remove barriers to graduation
develop and implement intervention and prevention strategies to increase the likelihood that students will stay in school and graduate, including differentiating instruction to meet the needs of identified students
provide training and support to junior and senior high school teachers on effective support measures for students identified for support
develop transition programs and vertical teams with junior high and senior high schools to ensure smooth student progression
develop relationships with parents/guardians, community organizations and other resources to create a comprehensive support network
develop and track leadership opportunities for students to foster engagement and success
Education/Qualifications
four year undergraduate degree in a related field
three years related experience including experience in an educational or social services environment
knowledge of high school graduation requirements
broad understanding of First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultures
Rate of Pay
$37.56 - $47.92 per hour
