Responsibilities:
Teach small-group and one-on-one lessons to high school students (Grades 9-12), with a primary focus on
Biology
and related scientific disciplines.
Design and deliver
personalized lesson plans
that align with students' academic levels, learning styles, and curriculum goals.
Provide
clear, engaging explanations
of complex biological topics, such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, anatomy, and physiology.
Prepare students for
school exams, standardized tests, and advanced-level biology assessments
, ensuring they master both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
Use
interactive, inquiry-based, and hands-on teaching methods
to develop students' analytical thinking and scientific reasoning.
Offer
constructive feedback
and individualized academic support to help students track progress and build confidence.
Foster a
positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment
that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Requirements:
Language proficiency:
Fluent in both
English and Mandarin
.
Strong subject expertise:
In-depth understanding of
Biology
(and preferably one additional science, such as Chemistry or Physics). Ability to simplify complex biological concepts and connect them to real-world examples.
Educational background:
Bachelor's degree or higher in
Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field
.
Curriculum experience:
Familiarity with the
Grade 9-12 Biology curriculum
, including lab work, scientific methods, and exam preparation.
Passion for teaching:
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and genuine enthusiasm for inspiring students in their academic and personal growth.
Classroom management:
Skilled at maintaining an organized, respectful, and productive learning atmosphere in both group and private lesson settings.
Adaptability:
Willing to integrate
new teaching tools, digital resources, and evolving educational methods
into instruction.
Collaboration:
Works effectively as part of a teaching team, supporting colleagues and participating in curriculum planning or extracurricular activities as needed.
Preferred experience:
Previous experience teaching
high school Biology or related sciences
is an asset.
Communication skills:
