Scarlet SecurityRisk Group (SSRG) is seeking Full-time Security Guards to join our team in Northwest British Columbia.
Successful applicants will provide security services to a remote mining site, including but are not limited to, ensuring adherence to site rules, site access, vehicle searches, foot and mobile patrolling, lodge security, assistance with emergency response, and security of the mine area.

Responsibilities
Maintaining excellent customer service to guests, colleagues, and site workers
Access control/intrusion detection at site
Monitoring site activities, detecting suspicious occurrences and providing detailed written incident reports
Mobile and foot patrols of assigned areas, including perimeter checks
Conducting person, bag, and vehicle searches and checks
Performing breath tests for alcohol and conducting drug and illegal substance testing as required
Responding to, de-escalating, and controlling potentially violent encounters
Monitoring and controlling vehicle movement within the site, including enforcing speed restrictions
Providing first response in emergencies
Recording daily activities, completing access and administrative forms, and issuing or checking security badges
Monitoring access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems
Emergency response dispatch and intra-team communication via radio
Requirements
Advanced Security Training (AST)
Minimum 3 years of relevant security experience. Law enforcement, military or high-security environment experience is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid British Columbia Security License (applicants from outside of BC must obtain)
Valid Class 5 Drivers License and acceptable Driver's Abstract
Valid Basic First Aid certificate
Possess Crisis Intervention and De-escalation certificate (CPKN) is an asset
Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills
Willingness to work both day and night shifts, indoors or outdoors as required
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including many stairs
Must be able to work in cold and hot weather conditions
Additional Information
Full uniform provided including PPE. Incumbent need only provide personal black, approved footwear (boot allowance provided).
2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
12-hour shifts

$25-$27 per hour (plus overtime pay)

Travel to and from site provided from marshalling points located in Vancouver, Calgary, Kelowna, Prince George and Smithers. Additional marshalling points may be added over time.
