Securiguard is currently seeking security professionals to join our team of High Profile Retail Security Guards!

Job Skills/Requirements

As a Retail Security Officer, customer service is the single most important thing you must deliver. Good customer service deters potential thieves and provides a safe environment for customers and employees.


As a RSO you will be posted at the store entrance/exit or locations that have been identified as high loss. You are expected to be

standing throughout the 8 hr shift.

RSO are a visual security deterrence. Often RSO will be the first and last image a customer has of the retailer so it is extremely important to portray a professional image at all times.


RSO will also report any and all presence of risks, hazards, or potential hazards to persons to the Manager on Duty (MOD) immediately upon detecting them.


RSO are trained security personnel and must ensure that they act in a professional manner at all times no matter the circumstances presented. RSO are not expected nor permitted to apprehend shoplifters.


RSO will be required to document all significant incidents including but not limited to, criminal offences, thefts, attempted thefts, product recoveries, and injury to persons. RSO must be able to write incident and or police reports.

Job duties may include, but are not restricted to:

Customer Service Visual deterrent Protection of persons and property Observing and reporting significant events (criminal) Reporting risks, hazards, safety issues (non-criminal) Patrolling of designated areas Persons removal for intoxication Report writing using TrackTik Supporting MOD Liaising with the police when required

Candidate Requirements:

Completion of BST and possession of a valid BC Security License
