To care for livestock and maintain/repair livestock facilities.

Intent of the process

Immediate need: 1 full-time temporary position (end date October 2026).

Please note that this position requires on-site presence in Lethbridge, Alberta.



A pool of qualified and/or partially qualified candidates may be established and used to fill similar positions on a temporary or permanent basis.

High school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.


Degree equivalency


Experience in handling and the care and maintenance of cattle.

Experience operating modern farm equipment.

Experience in feed mixing and production of total mixed rations.

Reliability Status security clearance


Possession of a valid class 5 Alberta driver's license or other provincial/territorial equivalency.

Ability and willingness to handle large animals.

Ability and willingness to work overtime including evenings and weekends


Ability and willingness to do shiftwork.

Ability and willingness to work in harsh environments (outdoors, cold, hot, dust, and noise) with exposure to animal manure and animal body fluids (blood, urine, mucus, infections, semen and vaginal fluids).

Known allergies must be controlled through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication and must not impinge upon the duties to be performed.
