Summary of responsibilities
The Hemodialysis Aide is responsible for providing direct and indirect activities that support the overall provision of nursing care on the nursing units. This also includes one-on-one care to patients as required as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient\'s plan of care
Requirements of the job
- Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Program from a Community College
- Holds current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Demonstrated ability to work with patients with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of good body mechanics
- Good listening skills
- Ability to understand, interpret and carry out written or verbal instructions
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the multidisciplinary team
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French) - and testing completed
