One of our government clients is looking for a Help Desk Associate - Own Vehicle Required ($29hr)
Length: Contract term is 2.5 months approximately, with high possibility extensions
Location: Ottawa, ON - Onsite (Travel Required)
Pay Rate: $29.44 per hour

DESCRIPTION
The client provides critical support to the justice sector-the largest sector within the OPS-supporting partners from the judiciary; municipal courts and private bar; regional and municipal government; corrections and emergency, policing and fire services.

They also provide I+IT services in partnership with the Ministries, including their respective Agencies, Boards and Commissions. They also manage 105+ business critical solutions/applications for 33,000 justice users distributed across 850 locations across the province of Ontario. Some of these court locations are in modern, consolidated courthouses in large urban centres; others can be found in rudimentary facilities in town or legion halls and community centres scattered throughout smaller or remote communities.

The introduction of new and emerging technologies has resulted in readjustments on how the business of courts is conducted, ongoing user support and training as needed for stakeholders (police services, defense). The administration of the courts in Ontario is heavily reliant on technology and is classified as mission critical, giving it the highest priority in responding to any outages or degradations. Every major trial requires IT resources for upfront planning, implementation and support. The impact to the court if the technology fails, or service is unable to be delivered due to technology issues, translates to the inability for court sessions to proceed.

DELIVERABLE REQUIREMENTS
An inventory validation exercise is a request of the client, across the Province of Ontario. The associates are required to attend each courtroom working in conjunction with Justice Technology Services Division and Service Management Branch (SMB) to complete the following tasks:
  • Validating and labelling courtroom technology inventory across the region
  • Attending each courtroom in the region to complete a 150-point technical checklist for courtrooms + labeling - gathering info on Justice Video Network and non-Justice Video Network technology
MUST HAVE
  • Valid driver\'s license, vehicle, and travel to the various sites in any given day.
