We are currently seeking a

Heavy Equipment Technician (HET)

to join our

Red Deer Frac Shop Team

. This position performs internal and external repairs on diesel and bi-fuel engines, troubleshoots hydraulic and transmission systems, and ensures equipment is maintained to high safety and quality standards. Day-to-day duties include diagnostics, scheduled maintenance, and mentoring apprentices.

In this role, you will also be responsible for:

Conducting internal engine repairs (e.g., cylinder head, piston packs, camshafts, turbo systems) Troubleshooting and repairing transmission and hydraulic issues Performing pre- and post-repair testing on frac and diesel engine units Maintaining clean, safe, and organized shop workspaces and tools

Qualifications and Skills

Required

Journeyman Certification as Heavy Equipment Technician or Heavy Duty Mechanic Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic aptitude Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation Proficiency in completing job documentation (e.g., service reports, quality control docs, warranty claims)

Preferred

CVIP License (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with:

CAT 3512, Cummins QSK50, Detroit 60, and MTU engines CAT TH48 and TH55 transmissions Hydraulics, frac equipment, truck and trailer unit repairs

Working Conditions

Environment

: Indoor frac shop setting with exposure to diesel and heavy equipment

Schedule

: Modified shift schedule 8 & 6, 10-hour days, overtime when needed
