Job Description

We are presently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to join our John Deere dealership in Red Deer. The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction, aggregate/ crushing units, pavers/ compaction and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a shop / field environment.Duties & Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Dismantle, repair, and assemble industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications
• Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, and/or repair activities
• Test and provide constructive feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
• Prepare electronic inspection and service reports
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
• Other duties as required

Required Experience

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
