If you would like to work as part of a progressive organization and enjoy a fast-paced environment, then this may be the opportunity for you.What is this Opportunity?We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Heavy Equipment Technician for our Fleet Services department.The Heavy Equipment Technician reports directly to the Lead of Fleet Services. This position diagnoses, repairs and maintains mobile and stationary equipment owned by the City of Leduc to ensure proper equipment operation.Key Responsibilities Include:What will you do?

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on various pieces of equipment

• Maintain various pieces of equipment according to the manufacturer\'s preventative maintenance schedule

• Maintain records of work performed on City equipment

• Clean and organize shop environment

• Provide guidance to apprentices and other co-workers on equipment diagnosis, repair and maintenance

• Source and order parts required to complete jobs

Requirements:What do you need to succeed?You are an ideal candidate if you have the following:

• Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (On Road and Off Road preferred)

• Second and Third Year Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentices will also be considered

• Minimum two (2) years\' experience in the Heavy Equipment Technician Trade

• Possess or be able to possess a license to complete Commercial Vehicle Inspections (Journeyman)

• Class 3 drivers\' license with airbrake endorsement (Journeyman)

• First aid certification would be an asset

• Previous Municipal experience would be an asset

• Experience with the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment and small engines would be an asset

• Ability to operate/experience with a wide range of equipment used in a Municipal setting

• Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check at own expense
