Reporting to the Lead Technician,

the Heavy Equipment Technician (HET)

plays a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in both shop and field settings. The successful candidate brings mechanical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset to every job. This position is ideal for a dedicated tradesperson who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is ready to be part of a high-performing and supportive team.



Key Responsibilities:





Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical/mechanical components Perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs on a variety of heavy-duty equipment Complete field-based service calls and on-site repairs as needed Utilize specialized tools and equipment to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts usage, inspections, and hazard assessments Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients regarding service updates and repair recommendations Mentor and support apprentices and contribute to

a team culture of continuous learning

Adhere to safety protocols and comply with all customer site requirements


Qualifications:





Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (HET) Red Seal designation Minimum 4 years of industry experience in heavy-duty repair Previous field service truck experience Mechanical proficiency with diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems Strong troubleshooting and time management skills Air Brake certification (asset) Class 5 Driver's License / Class 1 or 3 Driver's License considered an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shop management software (e.g., Protractor)
