Summary

The Heavy Equipment Field Technician is required to perform skilled tasks in the Maintenance and Repair of On and Off Road Construction Equipment as well as promote and participate in Goal Zero Safety Initiative. The incumbent will have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems, as well as have the ability to repair all necessary mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Inspect, maintain, and service of equipment

\xc2\xb7 Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a wide variety of construction/ paving equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Test repaired equipment for proper performance before sending equipment back to work

\xc2\xb7 Repair and/or replace defective parts

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate commitment to company policies, procedures, guidelines and initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to promoting a positive attitude towards Ethics, Goal Zero Safety, Core Values of Safety, Growth, Integrity

\xc2\xb7 Positively participate in company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements

\xc2\xb7 Maintain a safe and clean work environment

\xc2\xb7 Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.

\xc2\xb7 Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

\xc2\xb7 Perform mechanical repairs on equipment on site.

\xc2\xb7 Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of air brake systems, ABS systems , DEF/DPF systems

\xc2\xb7 Other mechanical repair work as required.

Requirements

Experience/Education

\xc2\xb7 Must hold a valid Alberta Journeyman\'s certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal for On & Off road

\xc2\xb7 3 years\' experience working with On & Off Road Construction Equipment

\xc2\xb7 Must have clean valid Class 5 driver\'s license. Class 1/3 with Air Endorsement would be an asset.

\xc2\xb7 Strong paving equipment background would be an asset

Key Skills

\xc2\xb7 Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and engine diagnostics.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with routine maintenance operations.

\xc2\xb7 Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.

\xc2\xb7 Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally

\xc2\xb7 Able to work well under pressure.

\xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to meet all safety requirements including a valid driver\'s license, satisfactory driving record, and pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing.

Working Conditions

\xc2\xb7 Overtime as required, including weekends

\xc2\xb7 Must be able to work outdoors.

\xc2\xb7 Be able to work various shifts (Day/Afternoon shift)
