:
Responsible for the in-field routine maintenance, lubrication, and inspection on a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, graders, scrapers, loaders, skid steers, etc. to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a commitment to providing quality work. This position requires the ability to work with various tools and equipment while in a variety of weather conditions.
Although we are ideally looking for someone with experience. We are willing to train someone who is self motivated with a strong mechanical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all company safety policies and practices
Perform diagnostic, repairs and preventative maintenance for a variety of equipment including passenger vehicles, highway tractors and construction equipment
Perform CVIP Inspections
Work on all components, including engines, electrical controls and systems, power train, hydraulics, brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions, fueling and other systems
Perform basic and complex diagnosis of systems through the use of diagnostic scanning tools, computer software and traditional methods
Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, or damage and report any potential issues to the Shop Foreman
Diagnose mechanical problems and suggest appropriate repair actions
Test and inspect equipment to ensure repairs are completed thoroughly
Ensure tools, equipment, and the lube truck are stocked and maintained in a clean and safe condition
Train operators on proper maintenance and greasing of equipment
Communicate with division foreman on timelines regarding downtime
Skills
Valid Class 5 driver's license with acceptable drivers abstract (Class 1 an asset)
2+ years of experience working on off-highway equipment (loaders, excavators, skid steers, etc)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
Previous experience in producing high-quality work with maintaining a variety of heavy equipment
Problem-solving skills with a strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Able to perform work in various environments, including shops, outdoors, and construction sites
Physical ability to perform hands-on tasks in various weather conditions
Able to understand written and verbal instructions in English
Use of a cell phone with the ability to be trained on multiple apps
