Position Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator - Loader, Forklift is responsible for the safe operation of forklifts and the unloading/loading of material. This position reports to the Yard Superintendent in Winnipeg.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures

- Operate Loader in Compliance with the Company's operating safety policies and procedures

Maintain forklift mechanical testing, through regular scheduled maintenance and operation

Loading, unloading, picking, and packaging of products on Trailers, Rail-Cars and Rail-Containers, ensuring that the work remains safe, efficient and on schedule

Comply with order packaging and checking loads are secure according to loading plan(s) and safety standards

Maintain and ensure the yard is kept clean and organized

Inspect shipments for proper quantity and quality ensuring no irregularities

Report and document any shipment irregularities

Other tasks or work to be assigned by Yard Superintendent

Qualifications

Strong work ethic

Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year

Employee will be required to stand, sit, bend, twist, grip and use their hands and reach high and low items weight 11 to 75 pounds

Valid Forklift operator License Minimum 3+ years experience preferred

attend Forklift operator courses and achieve operator License

Bondable

Valid and current Class 5 Driver's License.

Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards

Good attitude and ability to communicate with co-workers

Schedule:

Day shift

Monday to Friday (7:30am to 4pm)

T-RAIL offers a competitive $23-$28 hourly rate and some overtime may be required.

Expected hours:

No less than 40 per week

Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
