Tasks

Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation Operate heavy equipment Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Use International Organization for Standardization (ISO) pattern joystick controls Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks Measure distance, volume, length and weight Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS) Complete onboard and other logs Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment Prepare accident reports Secure special attachments to equipment Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment Perform minor repairs to equipment Weed, prune and trim trees and plants Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees Cut grass Cart and spread topsoil and other materials Assist with landscape constructions Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens Rake and collect refuse Shovel cement and other materials into cement mixers, spread concrete and asphalt on road surfaces using shovels, rakes and hand tampers Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment Load and unload vehicles using forklift or dolly
