Heavy Equipment Operator

, based out of Calgary Alberta, to assist in the installation of shallow utilities (power, gas, communications) in new residential subdivision developments.

Responsibilities for this position include:

Operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Heavy Equipment operation will primarily be on trackhoe excavators. Performing daily safety and maintenance checks. Complete routine fueling and maintenance. Practicing workplace safety. Ensuring heavy equipment is safely and securely stored. Advising the Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repair. Assisting qualified utility workers as required.

Requirements / Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years

of experience operating excavation equipment. The majority of this role will be trenching. Effective verbal and listening communication skills. Ability to understand and effectively execute verbal and written directions. Adheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessments. Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license (class 1 or 3 is an asset). Ability to interpret survey staking and construction drawings is an asset. Knowledge in basic repairs considered an asset. Safety conscious. Detail orientated. Good organization and communication skills. Must be living in Calgary area or willing to relocate prior to starting position.

Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
